Our Vision

Deven Singh's campaign was founded in 2023 with a clear vision to improve the education system in Clark County School District B. We are committed to transparency and bold goals. Join us in making a real change.

OUR PRIORITIES

TRANSPARENCY

Transparency in funding and decision-making processes is crucial for building trust and accountability. CCSD should provide detailed, accessible reports on budget allocations and spending outcomes, ensuring that funds are used effectively and efficiently. Regular audits and public disclosures can help maintain accountability and trust. By prioritizing transparency, we can ensure that resources are directed towards initiatives that directly benefit students and enhance educational quality. We need to put our money towards improving the quality of education of our students, and I will make sure wherever these funds are allocated are clear.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Robust accountability mechanisms are essential for the success of our educational system. We need a transparent and comprehensive evaluation process for schools, teachers, and administrators that includes input from parents and students. Implementing regular performance reviews, setting clear and achievable goals, and providing constructive feedback can drive continuous improvement. By holding all stakeholders accountable and recognizing excellence, we can foster a culture of high standards and excellence in education.

SAFETY

Ensuring the safety of students and staff is the foundation of a successful educational environment. We must adopt a holistic approach to school safety that encompasses physical security measures, mental health support, and community engagement. This includes implementing comprehensive safety protocols, such as secure entrances, surveillance systems, and emergency preparedness drills. Moreover, fostering a positive school culture where students feel connected and supported can prevent issues before they escalate. By integrating mental health resources and promoting a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and violence, we can create a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning and growth. Working collaboratively with law enforcement, mental health professionals, parents, and community organizations, we can build a resilient school safety framework that protects and empowers every student and educator.

FUNDING

Our funding model needs to reflect the complexities and demands of modern classrooms. A reformed Nevada Plan should allocate resources based on specific needs, such as student population diversity, socioeconomic challenges, and the unique requirements of special education programs. Innovative funding solutions could include partnerships with private sector organizations, grants for technology integration, and targeted investments in professional development for teachers. By rethinking how we allocate funds, we can address the root causes of educational disparities and ensure that every student has access to high-quality education.

TEACHERS

Teachers are the backbone of our education system and deserve to be treated as such. We must invest in their professional growth through ongoing training, mentorship programs, and opportunities for career advancement. Improving working conditions, such as reducing class sizes and providing adequate planning time, is crucial. Competitive salaries and benefits will help attract and retain top talent. Furthermore, recognizing teachers’ achievements and involving them in policy-making can foster a sense of ownership and respect within the educational community. Our teachers deserve better.

EDUCATION

Creating an environment where students feel both safe and valued is the cornerstone of effective education. We must prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of our children and teens to prevent the escalation of unaddressed mental health issues into violence. This involves not only enhancing physical security measures but also integrating comprehensive mental health support into our schools. We should foster a community-centric approach, bringing together educators, parents, mental health professionals, and law enforcement to develop and implement solutions that ensure every student feels secure and supported.

About Deven Singh

Hello! My name is Deven Singh and I have been a resident of Las Vegas since 1980. My father emigrated from India and was a professor at UNLV.  I am a proud graduate of the CCSD system with an alma mater of K.O. Knudson Middle School and Valley High School. I graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. I started working for the Federal Government as a Revenue Officer for the Internal Revenue Service. I decided to explore different avenues and started into Real Estate financing as a Loan Officer and became a Real Estate Agent. I started substitute teaching to be close to my son in school and became exposed to the CCSD from the inside. This experience was so exhilarating that I started teaching Real Estate Pre-licensing at one of the Real Estate schools. Throughout this time, I have opened my own brokerage Real Estate Planet and am currently Adjunct Professor at CSN teaching Real Estate and running my own full service residential and commercial real estate firm a with focus on property management and land development. If elected, I will pour my heart into this district.
